Virtual Appointment Instructions

Using Oticon's virtual appointment feature through the Companion app provides a convenient way for hearing aid users to receive support, adjustments, and consultations from their hearing care professionals without needing to visit an office in person. Here’s a general guide on how to use the virtual appointment feature in the Oticon Companion app. Please note, specific steps may vary slightly depending on your device and app version:
1. Download and Install the Companion App
-
Ensure you have the Oticon Companion app installed on your smartphone or tablet. This app is available for free on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
2. Set Up Your Account
-
Open the Companion app and follow the prompts to set up your account. You may need to provide some basic information about your hearing aids and your personal details.
3. Connect Your Hearing Aids
-
Connect your hearing aids to the app following the on-screen instructions. This usually involves turning on your hearing aids and enabling Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet to pair the devices.
4. Schedule a Virtual Appointment
-
Navigate to the virtual appointment section within the app. This may be labeled differently depending on your app version, such as “Remote Care,” “Virtual Appointments,” or something similar.
-
Select the option to schedule a new appointment. You may be prompted to choose your hearing care professional (if you have not done so already) and select a convenient time and date for your appointment.
5. Prepare for Your Appointment
-
Before your scheduled appointment, ensure your hearing aids are fully charged or have fresh batteries, and that you have a stable internet connection.
-
Find a quiet space where you can talk and listen without interruptions.
6. Joining Your Virtual Appointment
-
At the time of your appointment, open the Companion app and go to the virtual appointment section. There should be an option to join your scheduled appointment.
-
Click on the “Join” button to start your virtual session. Your hearing care professional will guide you through the appointment, which may include discussing any issues you’re experiencing, making remote adjustments to your hearing aids, and providing advice on maintenance and care.
7. Follow-Up
-
After the appointment, you may receive a summary of the adjustments made or instructions for follow-up care. The app might also allow you to book future appointments or send messages to your hearing care professional for additional support.
